The Iraqi political parties raced to resolve the names of the candidates nominated to fill the three presidencies (the republic, parliament and government) before holding the parliamentary session scheduled tomorrow.
There were assurances that the Shiite forces would soon decide to choose a consensus candidate from outside the political parties to take over the post of prime minister.
Al-Hayat newspaper reported that the day will be decisive in the agreement of the main Shiite forces in Iraq on a compromise candidate for the post of prime minister from outside the parties, The Supreme Islamic Council Adel Abdul Mahdi, the head of the intelligence service Mustafa al-Kazemi, Abdul Wahab al-Saadi (one of the leaders of the anti-terrorism apparatus), the governor of Basra Asaad al-Eidani, national security adviser article Faleh al-Fayadh, the leader of the "conquest" Ali Shukri, Afri Laith Kubba, and former minister Ali Allawi.
According to sources, most of the names were excluded because they did not match Sistani's terms of independence of the candidate from the parties, and he has the competence, courage and firmness in managing the files of the state and fighting corruption. The sources pointed out that the decision today will be between the two main names without detection.
The sources confirmed that the close of the agreement on the candidate of the post of prime minister put the Kurdish and Shiite forces in an awkward position, as the name of the former leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan Barham Saleh is strongly proposed to the presidency in the Kurdish circles supported by the acceptance of the Arab public, in exchange for other names, including: Former Hoshyar Zebari, and the President of the Office of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq Fuad Hussein and leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Fadel Mirani, while nominated eight Sunni Sunnis themselves for the post of Speaker of Parliament, most notably Khalid al-Obeidi and Osama Najafi, Mohammed Halbusi and Talal Zobaie.
The sources revealed that if the prime minister is dissolved with the approval of al-Sistani today, the Shiite forces informed the Kurds and Sunnis that they will leave the vote free of its members to the posts of the heads of parliament and the Republic, in the absence of a Sunni consensus and Kurdi them.
