(AFP) - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met with Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi on Saturday to discuss bilateral cooperation and the Egyptian role in the reconstruction of Iraq.
Sisi and the Iraqi prime minister are due to speak to the media.
The talks will focus on pushing bilateral cooperation frameworks towards new and diverse horizons in various political, economic, commercial and cultural fields according to the needs of the Iraqi people, especially with regard to the reconstruction efforts in Iraq.
Egypt and Iraq are linked to historical relations, as is currently evident in Egypt's openness towards the establishment of relations and the signing of memorandums and agreements in various aspects of relations with the readiness of Egypt to help and support Iraq in various fields and to emphasize the Egyptian permanent and permanent position supporting the territorial integrity of Iraq and non-interference in its internal affairs and conduct national reconciliation Comprehensive and support the inclusion of the political process in Iraq for all Iraqi factions without exception.
