Beijing warns of opening "doors of hell" in Middle East

[rtl]Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi warned the world on Tuesday of opening "the gates of hell" in the Middle East, calling on Iran not to withdraw from the nuclear deal in 2015.[/rtl]
[rtl]In remarks to Beijing after meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem, the Chinese minister said the United States should not use "excessive pressure" when settling matters with Iran.[/rtl]
[rtl]He told reporters that China was "deeply concerned" about the situation in the Gulf and with Iran and called on all sides to calm tensions and avoid confrontation.[/rtl]
[rtl]"We call upon all sides to continue to exercise restraint and to refrain from any escalating actions that create regional tensions and not open the gates of hell," Wang said, urging Americans to "change their excessive pressure."[/rtl]
[rtl]"There is no basis in international law for any unilateral behavior, it will not solve the problem, it will cause a bigger crisis," he said.[/rtl]
[rtl]He pointed out that the nuclear agreement with Iran is the only effective way to resolve the nuclear issue, and urged Iran to exercise wisdom.[/rtl]
[rtl]"We understand that the parties concerned may have different concerns, but above all the nuclear deal should be properly implemented," he said. "We hope that Iran will be careful in making the decision and not simply abandon this agreement."[/rtl]
