The Foreign Ministry set new procedures on Monday for Iraqis living outside the country.
"Iraqi citizens living in the Arabian Gulf, the United States, Europe or Canada are granted entry permits directly from the airport," ministry spokesman Ahmed al-Sahaf said in a statement.
He added that "the Iraqi citizen who enters the Republic of Egypt can keep his passport instead of handing it over to the Egyptian authorities."
