The Representative of the Coordination Framework, Aref Abdel Jalil, refused, on Thursday, to confiscate the tripartite coalition’s rights to represent the parliamentary committees, noting that the tripartite coalition included a paragraph ratifying the committees within the president’s election session to ensure the presence of the largest possible number of deputies.
Al-Hamami said in a statement to the “Information” agency, that “the ratification paragraph of the parliamentary committees was included in the parliament’s agenda for yesterday’s session, Wednesday, as a pressure card to attract independents and intimidate them to attend the parliament session,” noting that “the inclusion of the committees was an attempt to influence some MPs to force them to attend.” at the presidential election.
He added that "the quotas of the coordination framework of the parliamentary committees are preserved and guaranteed, and none of the parties can infringe on the entitlement of the framework from the parliamentary committees."
And he indicated that “the process of adding the committee’s approval paragraph to the session’s schedule is well thought out and systematic to intimidate new and independent MPs,” explaining that “the entitlement of MPs from parliamentary committees is reserved for all MPs.”
The presidency of the House of Representatives had voted, earlier, on members of the finance, legal and foreign relations committees in the absence of representatives of the opposition blocs to attend the session to choose the president of the republic.
