Representative Alia Nassif confirmed that the objection of some to the approval of the General Authority of Customs on the official books and the authenticity books of the chests and their failure to implement the automation system is an incorrect objection and has no legal basis, indicating that the decision of the Council of Ministers regarding the adoption of electronic documents was canceled through Resolution No. 183 of 2020, which includes Authorizing the Minister of Finance to negotiate automation and cancel previous decisions in this regard.
And she said in a statement today: “The Cabinet Resolution No. 106 of 2018, which includes (obligating the relevant government agencies to adopt electronic documents in their transactions related to commercial exchange at border crossings and to archive these transactions according to an electronic system and within a specified time limit) has been canceled by issuing Cabinet Resolution No. 183 of 2020, which includes (entrusting the Minister of Finance with the powers to negotiate and contract with UNCTAD to automate customs work and cancel all previous decisions on the subject of automation).”
Nassif explained: “This means that what some are promoting about the General Authority of Customs not participating in the electronic platform with the aim of blackmailing citizens, merchants and industrialists is absolutely untrue, and we have personally confirmed that there are no complaints in this regard, with the exception of objections from illegal commentators who deceive merchants and take Some of them have sums of money on the pretext that their transactions at customs are in line.”
And she continued: “If some have a misconception that the procedures for issuing the books of state departments regarding exempted goods are a kind of routine or obstruction of the flow of transactions, then it is in fact a procedure followed in all state departments to ensure the integrity of these books because they are related to public money, due to the occurrence of cases of forgery. For books, as happened in some books of the Industrial Development Directorate, which were referred to the judicial authorities at the time, and there are more than 30 factories and companies whose owners are not reviewed and have not been inferred.”
And she indicated: “Our oversight work should not be limited to exposing and attacking the mafias of corruption, but it is our duty to praise the departments that practice their work efficiently, sincerity and integrity, and not to underestimate the efforts of the good elites, which unfortunately has become a rare currency in the current circumstance.”
