Representative Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) has introduced a Bill that would take away the law capacity of the Bureau of Land Management.
Submitted by IWB, on March 25th, 2016

Representative Jason Chaffetz, the Republican from Utah, has introduced a Bill that would take the law enforcement capacity on public lands from the Bureau of Land Management and the US Forest Service.
This is a major win for US citizens if it does in fact pass. Many have been harassed and even lost their land to the Federal Government in land grabs and other abuses enforced by the BLM.
The action would give local law enforcement back to the Sheriffs, which in fact is where it should be.

There is a group of Representatives who are fighting for the rights of the public in land issues. This group has labelled themselves the Coalition of Western States (COWS), and they are indeed dedicated to restoring Constitutional values back to the US.
This is the cause LaVoy Finicum gave his life for. If this Bill passes Finicum’s death will not be in vain. It would mean a win for the Constitution of the United States and progress for We The People.

The Local Enforcement for Local Lands Act would de-federalize law enforcement responsibility on lands controlled by the Bureau of Land Management and the Forest Service. The measure, introduced by Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, and three colleagues from his state, would instead deputize local authorities to provide law enforcement on federal lands.
The legislation comes just weeks after the violent resolution of the armed standoff between law enforcement agents and anti-government activists occupying the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon. The refuge is under the jurisdiction of the Fish and Wildlife Service and it’s not clear how the legislation would impact FWS, which, like BLM, is part of the Interior Department. The Forest Service is part of the Agriculture Department.
The legislation appears to be part of a larger effort to crack down on the agencies; Chaffetz’s bill was coupled with an investigation he launched last week into BLM and the Forest Service’s spending on employee bonuses. On Wednesday, a subcommittee on Chaffetz’s oversight panel held a hearing into BLM’s policies on leasing public lands.

Chaffetz said he also wants to issue subpoenas to the “out of control” federal agencies to learn why they want to purchase submachine guns. He said he has had repeated meetings and sent letters to the BLM’s national director, Neil Kornze, with no satisfactory response to his questions.
“I want to know what kind of arsenal they have. I’m met with blank stares,” he said. “They’re wholly unresponsive. They don’t feel compelled to answer our letters.”
He said the BLM abruptly canceled its contracts with local county sheriff’s offices in Utah and relationships have diminished in a significant way. He met with local sheriffs Tuesday to discuss his proposal, with a couple of the men predicting that the congressman’s legislation will receive support.

A fight is brewing over control of Utah’s vast wilderness areas, which are held by the federal government. News Specialist Ladd Egan reports from the Capitol where the Utah Sheriffs’ Association met today with Congressman Jason Chaffetz.

I say Jason Chaffetz for Vice President! This man is a jewel in politics that many people know nothing about. He truly is fighting for the rights of the people.
Lets support him with recognition and spread the word about Rep. Chaffetz. He is trying to do the right thing for the citizens of the United States. He certainly is a breath of fresh air!
Representative Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) unveils Bill to protect users of cannabidiol oil.
Chaffetz said CBD oil — a marijuana extract low in THC, the chemical that causes the “high” in marijuana — has been used to successfully treat epilepsy, cancer and other illnesses.
“Patients who qualify to receive treatment should not have to fear prosecution by the federal government,” Chaffetz said in a statement. “States have taken the lead on this issue, and the federal government should follow.”
Marijuana use, which is classified as a Schedule 1 substance, remains illegal under federal law. Other schedule 1 substances include heroin, ecstasy and bath salts.
Fifteen states, including Utah, have passed legislation permitting medical use of CBD oil, according to Chaffetz.
