[ltr]Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, stated that his alliance with the Citizen bloc within the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council headed by, Ammar al-Hakim, is strategic and aims at strengthening the Islamic Shiite unity.[/ltr]
[ltr]In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, he said “There are many sides that attempt at foiling this alliance, but we are working on making it strategic and not for the policy but to involve social and religious issues.”[/ltr]
[ltr]“This will consolidate the national Islamic Shiite unity and make the political situation away from dictatorship to serve the people of Iraq,” he added.[/ltr]
[ltr]He assured his continuous efforts to “Increase the ties between the two sides and forget all the past events.”[/ltr]
[ltr]“Let all know that the two sides belong to the First Martyr, Mohammed Baqir al-Sad,” he concluded.[/ltr]
