[ltr]Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Ali Shubar of the parliament Citizen bloc described the absence of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy, Hussein al-Shahristani from the parliament session to which he was hosted to discuss the electricity crisis, as unjustified.[/ltr]
[ltr]It was scheduled the parliament would host Shahristani on last Saturday, but he did not attend where his office attributed his absence to non-informing him officially.[/ltr]
[ltr]Shubar told Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Shahristani is primarily responsible for the electricity file and he is tasked to follow up this file,” stressing “his absence from the hosting session is unjustified even if he was not officially invited.”[/ltr]
[ltr]“The Electricity Minister is intended to be a victim to the failure at the electricity sector which suffers corruption and mafias that are supported by certain sides,” he added.[/ltr]
[ltr]“The parliament was supposed to summon Shahristani and the Deputy Premier for Services, Salih al-Mutleg,” Shubar added noting “The parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi said yesterday that he will officially invite Shahristani to attend the parliament session.”[/ltr]
