    Andre Burakovsky.

Last year he was pretty quiet in the playoffs (he had one point in 12 games) but I think he's going to take off and really emerge this year. His underlying numbers are really good and he produces points at 5v5 at the same rate as Patrick Kane and Johnny Gaudreau. I think he's going to be a key piece on what should be a long run for the Caps.

My more under the radar pick is Charlie McAvoy. If he can move the puck as advertised, he should be a nice add to the Bruins roster and pick up his share of points with the likes of Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, David Pastrnak and David Krejci playing in front of him.

    John Jaeckel

There are likely numerous candidates league-wide. Notably, for example, someone like Tom Wilson on the very good fourth line of the Capitals could be a huge difference maker when depth and match ups really matter. Or one of the deep, young forward group from the Blue Jackets.

Or some guy named Matthews or McDavid or Tarasenko.

But two from the team I cover are:

    Richard Panik and/or Ryan Hartman.

Panik was a bit of a revelation in Chicago's first round, 7-game loss to St. Louis last year. But his game has elevated considerably since then. With the puck no longer a hand grenade on his blade, Panik scored 20+ goals in the regular season this year, but more importantly, he is a difference-maker physically almost every game. He scores, he beats people with speed, and he hits—sometimes "leaving marks." His game is almost ideally suited to the playoffs, where energy, physicality and will prevail.

Hartman also has a game suited for the playoffs. He's willing to go to war around the net and he can play up and down the lineup.

Both players are also pretty good at the agitating game.

    James Tanner

I believe that Dougie Hamilton is going to be using these playoffs to elevate his reputation.

He just had a pretty great season and although he isn't in the stratosphere of Hedman, OEL, Burns or Karlsson I think Calgary is going to have some success this spring and that his rep and name-recognition is going to take a huge jump.
