Today, Tuesday (November 19, 2024), Parliament Speaker Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani directed the preparation of reports on the performance of ministers, governors, and heads of agencies.
Baghdad Today obtained a document issued by the office of the Speaker of Parliament, which stated, “Based on the oversight and constitutional role of the House of Representatives, and because the Parliamentary Integrity Committee is competent in assessing cases of mismanagement, corruption, and waste of public money, it is necessary to issue a detailed report regarding ministries, independent bodies, all governorates, and entities not affiliated with a ministry.”
The document also stipulated "giving the issue the utmost importance and harnessing all the tools of the House of Representatives to the Integrity Committee for the purpose of achieving the tasks assigned to it, and for the Committee to seek the assistance of the supporting oversight bodies, including the Federal Integrity Commission and the Federal Financial Supervision Bureau, to provide all the information required in this regard, provided that the report is submitted by January 15, 2025."
