    The Ministry of Oil began to develop exploratory field (Dima 1) in the province of Maysan, it comes as part of the national efforts of the ministry to see oil reserves, while international companies invited to invest in the establishment of a refinery in Basra province , with a production capacity of 300 thousand barrels per day.
    The director of the Ministry of Maysan Oil Company engineer Adnan Nochi, told the "morning", said the company and in coordination with the Iraqi Drilling Company and the Department of reservoirs in the ministry embarked on the development of exploratory field (Dima 1) in the province of Maysan, noting that the work included evaluation of formations reservoir produced in the new field, in order to get a clear picture of the stock oil and specifications of oils in this field.
    He added that this work is part of the national effort to develop the field program in the context of the orientations of the oil ministry, adding that the program will continue more than a year and is expected to reach completion rate in which about 88 percent of the end of this year.
    It is noteworthy that the well Dima 1 , which was drilled in 2012 is the first exploratory well in the Maysan fields after the cessation of exploration operations 30 years ago.
    For his part, he said ministry spokesman Assem Jihad , in a press statement, the ministry announced the establishment of a refinery in Basra Faw capacity of 300 thousand barrels per day, indicating that the refinery comes within the ministry 's plan to expand the national production of oil derivatives.
    Jihad said that the refinery , which also will contain reservoirs and pumping stations will be in the Faw district to be close to export ports, adding that the ministry is seeking to reach oil derivatives to one million barrels per day.
    He called the official spokesman for the ministry of international companies to compete for the establishment of the refinery giant, stressing that the establishment of the refinery would raise production of oil derivatives will provide the financial revenues of the Iraqi state.
    It is said that the country has three large refineries, the refinery and the refinery in Basra , in addition to the Baiji refinery, as well as 10 other small oil refineries scattered in a number of Iraqi provinces, and a number of refineries in the Kurdistan region, while the oil ministry is seeking to encourage investments in the areas of refineries crude oil in order to meet domestic need of various oil derivatives and the possibility of exporting the surplus.
