Palestinians enter Al-Aqsa Mosque for the first time in about two weeks

    Release date: 2017/7/27

(Al-Furat News) The Palestinians entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Thursday for the first time in two weeks to perform the Asr prayer after the Israeli security forces opened the door of Hatta, where there were some skirmishes between the two sides.
The Palestinians were due to return to pray at the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Thursday afternoon after the decision of the religious leaders of Jerusalem, against the backdrop of Israel lifting all the measures imposed on the Temple Mount.
But the director of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Omar al-Kiswani, announced that he would not pray in the mosque before opening the gate of Hatta.
Bab Hatta was the one from which three young Israeli Arabs set out to carry out an attack that killed two Israeli policemen and the three attackers two weeks ago in an incident that led to tension.
Thousands of Palestinians gathered outside the Al-Aqsa Mosque before opening the door, demanding full access to all doors, while many decided to pray outside the walls of Al-Aqsa, as was the case during the past two weeks.
