Sadr returns from the UAE and receives an invitation to visit Egypt
Najaf - The leader of the Sadrist movement Moqtada al-Sadr wrapped up his visit to the United Arab Emirates and arrived in the holy city of Najaf, while sources revealed an Egyptian invitation to Sadr to visit Cairo.
"Sadr held important talks with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed and a number of UAE officials on several issues of mutual interest between Iraq and the UAE," a statement from his office said.
The UAE had sent a private plane to Sadr to visit back and forth.
Sources familiar with al-Sadr's intention to visit Egypt have revealed.
The sources said that "Egypt sent an official invitation to Sadr to visit Cairo."
