    Maysan protesters demonstrate in Baghdad
    Demonstrated dozens of contractors, yesterday before the Ministry of Finance in Baghdad to claim their money "stolen" by the Agricultural Bank in Maysan.
    Local media reported that dozens of contractors demonstrated in front of the Ministry of Finance to claim compensation for their money, which they said was "stolen" by the Agricultural Bank in Maysan, noting that the demonstrators threatened to sit in the event that their demands were not met by the concerned authorities.
    For his part, MP Haider al-Mawla said in a press interview that "the theft of the contractors' money is a dangerous precedent and threatens to invest in Iraq," stressing that "the contractor began to lose confidence in the government, which did not save his money in the country."
    While the MP called Nazem Saadi in an interview with Alsumaria News the government to "impose severe penalties against those who stole the funds of contractors and a serious stand towards it."



    Postponement of the trial of the president of Basra
    The Presidency of the Court of Appeal of the Federal Basra, on Monday, that the Criminal Court decided to postpone the trial of the President of the provincial council Sabah al-Bezouni to Monday, after it was scheduled to be held on Monday.
    "The trial was postponed until (August 28, 2017) to hear the charges against him," the court said in a statement.
    The leader of the coalition of the rule of law in Basra and the head of the provincial council Sabah al-Bezouni went to (5 July 2017) to the Court of Integrity in the light of an order to bring him, and then decided to investigate the judge investigating the investigation.



    US - Iraqi meeting to develop universities
    "Iraq is keen to consolidate academic relations and develop them with American universities by agreeing on the nature of the American curriculum to be studied," Higher Education Minister Abdul Razzak al-Issa said in a statement after receiving Christian Carroll, Culture and Education Attaché, and John Kuncanon, consul general affairs at the US embassy in Baghdad.
    "The two sides agreed to develop joint cooperation at the scientific and academic levels to support the Iraqi university institutions and improve their performance in the light of
    international experiences ," he said.
    For his part, the American delegation expressed its "keenness to develop scientific and cultural cooperation with Iraq by speeding up the establishment of the American University in Baghdad."
