Wasit province invited foreign companies to invest gas associated with the extraction of oil in the fields of Badra and Ahdab.
"The local administration has sent official invitations to a group of companies and a number of capital owners in foreign industrial countries to invest gas associated with the extraction of crude oil in the fields of Badra and Al-Ahdab oil and investment in infrastructure projects," said Wasit Governor Mahmoud Abdul-Redha Talal. That there is a plan to establish a plant in the province with international specifications to take advantage of oil extracted from the fields of Badra and Alhaddb oil and gas investment and the processing of the houses of the province cooking gas liquid through the pipelines.
He added that the Department of the province reviewed during the invitation of companies opportunities that can be invested by benefiting from the high quantities of crude oil production in the fields mentioned above, whose production exceeded 237 thousand barrels per day.
Talal pointed out that foreign companies can benefit from the feasibility study prepared by the Energy Committee in the provincial council in cooperation with the Iraqi Engineers Association on how to extract gas associated with the oil fields, which were sent to the Ministry of Oil for approval.
"Iraq is losing large amounts of $ 7 million a day as a result of the burning of gas associated with the extraction of oil in the atmosphere, as well as the environmental damage caused by fumes," said the head of the energy committee in the Wasit Governorate Council.
She noted that specialists in the field of oil confirmed that the volume of Iraq's daily loss of gas burning estimated at about $ 80 per second, or about seven million dollars per day.
