    A member of the Culture and Information Committee MP Sarwa Abdul Wahid on Saturday urged the filling of vacancies in the media and communications body after the expiry of the legal period of former members.
    In a press release issued by her media office, Al-Sabah said, "The legal period for assigning a number of members of the Board of Trustees of the Information and Communication Authority has ended." Paragraph (e) of Article (1) of Section (4) Order No. 65 of 2004 stipulates that members of the Board of Trustees shall be appointed by the Prime Minister for a period of four years and may be reappointed for one time. This appointment shall be subject to approval by a majority of the members of the House of Representatives.
    Abdul Wahid added that «a number of members of the Board of Trustees of the Information and Communications Authority, were appointed under the Order Diwani No. (275) on 21/7/2009, which means that the assignment of trustees has ended
    21/7/2017, which is more than a month after the end of the mandate «, noting that« their presence in the body is illegal and illegal and they must stop doing business and not receive any salaries and financial benefits and return what they received from the period ending their mandate ».
    A member of the committee explained that "the legal, administrative and professional responsibility requires the management of the Media and Communications Authority and the trustees to address the Council of Representatives and the Prime Minister, Haider al-Abadi, and notify them of the end of their mandate so that they can work to fill these vacancies and so as not to stop or stall the work of the Commission" "The management of the Commission and the trustees who have completed their term have delayed the notice of the House of Representatives and the Prime Minister and they are committing a legal offense."
