Parliamentary Services warns: Iraqi Airways will be used to terminate its operational contracts

    Release date: 2017/8/28

{Baghdad: Al Furat News} The Committee warned of services and reconstruction of the parliamentary "worn out" Iraqi Airways by ending hundreds of operational contracts.
The Committee member Sabah al-Tamimi said in a statement received by the agency {Euphrates News} a copy of it, "the Ministry of Transport to stop the termination of operational contracts in Iraqi Airways," He said that "ending these contracts will lead to the erosion of Iraqi Airways."
Tamimi said that "the recent decision of the Council of Ministers provides for the termination of contracts that took place during 2017 because the budget did not contain degrees of employment and financial allocation did not refer to the suspension of contracts in 2016."
"If the Ministry of Transport does not back down on this decision, more than 1,800 contracts will be canceled in the next few weeks, including the families of the martyrs and the early and a large number of aircraft engineers and technicians," she said.
Tamimi called "the Ministry of Transport to be aware of the seriousness of this measure, which may lead to the deterioration of airlines, especially that at the beginning of next year will be transferred more than 500 employees to retire with the loss of young competencies capable of leading the Iraqi Airways and upgrade them to the highest levels."
And demanded that "the Minister of Transport to defend his employees, especially that the coming days are the days of blessing (Eid al-Adha) and must stand with these associates, according to the Prophet Muhammad (r) {all of you a shepherd and all responsible for his flock)."
Tamimi pointed out that "the officials working on this file if they do not make the employees and those appointed by the contract victims of their quarrels and political strife and that these contracts do not count on these, it is the simplest rights of young people and that their salaries are only crumbs compared to other salaries, from the top of the pyramid, and down."
