    The Russian Foreign Ministry has launched a series of positions described as escalation in response to the decision of the United States to reduce the Russian diplomatic presence on its territory.

    Russia has strongly protested Washington's closure of diplomatic missions.

    The US decision to close the missions undermines cooperation on urgent international issues, as well as a clear violation of international law and a direct threat to the safety of Russian citizens.

    And disclosed intentions of the US security inspection of the Russian consulate in San Francisco tomorrow, in addition to the apartments staff.

    The new Russian ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, is waiting for a diplomatic crisis when he arrives at his new headquarters on Thursday. Only twenty-four hours are left before him to close the Russian consulate in San Francisco and headquarters of the diplomatic mission in Washington and New York.

    The Russian presidency, for its part, said that the Kremlin administration will quietly reflect on how to respond to the recent American steps, and expressed at the same time regrets the escalation of tension in relations, accusing the United States to push the relationship to a serious predicament, as seen in the US step in contradiction with previous statements on willingness to cooperate .

    The Russian Foreign Ministry has denounced the granting of Washington only two days to evacuate the diplomats, while Moscow in return for a month for the same purpose, at the end of July, to reduce the number of staff of its diplomatic mission in Russia to end negligent leaving Russia on Friday.

    The US sanctions came against the backdrop of Russia's forcible annexation of the Crimea from Ukraine and allegations of Russian interference in the US presidential election.
