BAGHDAD - Iraq's chief of staff, Haidar al-Abadi, has warned of the military build-up of the Kurdistan region of Kirkuk and the disputed areas.

"There is a military mobilization from the province in Kirkuk and the disputed areas and there was agreement on the management of these areas under the federal administration," Abadi said at a weekly press conference.

He pointed out that "according to the Constitution, these areas must be subject to the federal government and directed a letter to them to withdraw from the Nineveh Plain, especially during the process of liberating Mosul, according to the agreement between Baghdad and the region," calling "the region and all its forces to return from the areas they launched from before the start of the process are coming, Which was launched on 18 October 2016.

"We do not give up the protection of our citizens," he said. "We are talking to armed groups that control the resources of these areas." He warned of "escalation and the dispatch of any new forces, and they must immediately implement the normalization measures."

He pointed out that the region "whenever he sees that Baghdad is busy with the war is an extension of these areas and warn of armed conflict."

Abadi said that "some were betting that international positions will change after the referendum, but on the contrary became more radical and warned the leaders of the Kurds because the position is principled and firm in the unity of Iraq."

The prime minister stressed that "the world will continue to stand with us in the unity of Iraq and the leaders of countries told us that relations will be with Baghdad and not the region and we emphasize that it is wrong to deal with a region and not a state," stressing that "the decisions of the federal government is not to punish the Kurdish citizens, Heart of it ". Finished
