A Chinese company is interested in the development of Majnoon oil field after the withdrawal of Shell
Economy News - Baghdad:
China's CNPC has shown interest in developing the Majnoon oilfield in Iraq, which Royal Dutch Shell is seeking to exit, two oil industry officials said on Monday.
The two officials said the oil ministry in Baghdad is waiting for Shell to exit officially from the field in northern Iraq before entering into discussions with other companies on the development of the field. CNBC was not immediately available for comment.
Shell plans to exit a madman and hand over operations to the state-run Basra Oil Company by the end of June 2018, oil industry officials said last year.
