[ltr]WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A travel ban imposed by President Donald Trump's administration against travelers from six Muslim-majority countries should not be enforced on people with strong links to the United States, a US appeals court said on Monday.[/ltr]
[ltr]The US Court of Appeals in the Ninth Circuit also said the ruling would be suspended until the US Supreme Court issued a travel ban.[/ltr]
[ltr]Last month, an appeals court in California allowed a portion of the latest US travel ban issued by US President Donald Trump to allow the government to ban people from six Muslim-majority countries if they had no family ties in the United States. Thus making the decision[/ltr]
[ltr]A lower court dismissed the new ban.[/ltr]
[ltr]The ruling affects arrivals from Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia and Chad, and does not affect people from two other countries included in the Trump ban: North Korea and Venezuela.[/ltr]
