The new Saudi ambassador to Lebanon, Walid al-Yaqub, handed over his credentials to President Michel Aoun, becoming the first accredited ambassador to Lebanon in three years.
Yacoub visited Wednesday parliament speaker Nabih Berri and Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
"The latest developments and bilateral relations between the two countries were presented during the meeting," a statement from Hariri's office said.
The credentials of the Saudi ambassador came just days after Saudi Arabia agreed to appoint Fawzi Kabara as Lebanon's ambassador.
The relationship between the two countries has been strained in the past, against the background of Hariri's sudden resignation from Riyadh in early November, and later retracted.
