    [ltr]Brent crude prices rose to $ 70 a barrel on Monday, supported by continuing OPEC-Russia production cuts and ignoring an increase in US and Canadian drilling activities, predicting future production growth in North America.[/ltr]
    [ltr]At 0558 GMT, London Brent crude was up 13 cents from the previous close to $ 70 a barrel.[/ltr]
    [ltr]US crude <LCOc1> was up 23 cents at $ 64.53 a barrel.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Both crude reached last week's highs since December 2014 with Brent hitting $ 70.05 a barrel and West Texas Intermediate at $ 64.77.[/ltr]
    [ltr]ANZ Bank said on Monday that oil prices were rising recently due to data showing a narrowing of the gap between supply and demand in the market.[/ltr]
