Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi described his country's relations with Kuwait as fundamental and called for strengthening them at all levels, including economic and social ones.
Abadi said during a reception with a Kuwaiti media delegation visiting Baghdad that he "always cited the great shift in bilateral relations between Iraq and Kuwait, which moved from the case of hostility during the control of the Baath Party and the Saddam invasion of Kuwait to the state of brotherhood and rapprochement now."
On the other hand, al-Abbadi said that the so-called organization of the Islamic state (da'ash) was not only the result of regional differences in the previous stage, which generated a stimulating environment for its launch until it was able to lure young people and entrap them in his partnership.
He stressed that his country succeeded in eliminating militarily in all of Iraq but that several cells remained dormant here and there and that his government is working to hit them through direct targeting or pursuing them in the remote desert areas where they are hiding or by enhancing security cooperation with citizens in the transfer of information.
Abadi pointed out that his country does not want terrorism to touch any other country in the region, including Egypt and Syria, revealing at the same time that the organization was planning during his control of the northern provinces in Iraq to penetrate the south to find an outlet from there to the Gulf States.
He said that Da'ash organization is "very dangerous" and especially intellectual. "They need only small groups to provoke terror among people and communities. The armies of the world are not capable of confronting this organization which excelled in the use of modern technology and communications. Trained and able to manage their internal situation with high professionalism. "
With regard to the legislative elections in his country, Abadi said that it will take place on time in the next 12 of May, although some tried to postpone, but the Federal Court rejected it.
As for the local elections of the provincial councils, the constitution did not set a fixed date for its implementation, so it can be postponed, revealing the desire of some, because a number of political blocs are unable to see his opinion to run two elections at the same time.
"We also succeeded in unifying the regular forces that were initially weak with the enthusiastic volunteers. We benefited from the discipline of the army and Hamas volunteers. We also thought that the volunteer would join the political side," he said. In the elections. "
He stressed that he does not reject the alliance with any party provided that adhere to the fixed curriculum of its list, which is based on the refusal of quotas and the rejection of sectarianism, stressing that sectarianism fell in the eyes of the street today.
He warned of attempts by some during the next phase to mix the facts through social networking sites, which he described as weapons that can be used by some for destructive purposes.
Abadi pointed out that it is not against the freedom of expression, but social networking sites have become unchecked and without determinants calling for a unified Arab position and pressure on the administrations of those sites to force them to organize their work simply because they became means and causes of death.
He pointed out that the organization of "Da'ash" used the social networking sites and drew through the youth and formed an integrated media system that was not visible to the politicians turned it into a means to broadcast and circulate bad rumors, indicating that he requested an integrated study to know the extent of damage caused by social networking sites for young people in society.
"The adoption of the" mobilization law "will enable the state to control the armed factions in Baghdad and subject them to government and military laws, Abadi said.
He revealed that his government was not willing to withdraw the weapon and restricted it to the state in the previous period because the threat of (da'ash) was standing, but now there is a real desire of all political blocs to withdraw the arms indicating that "the areas with the Shiite component to which most of the crowd is the most desirable areas because they They do not want an uncontrolled weapon. "
Abadi pointed out that some want to accelerate the solution of the issue of popular mobilization, but does not want a movement outside the unity of the country and that the solution comes in a qualitative way and by integrating the crowd in the security system.
On the relationship with the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Abbadi said that his government succeeded in overcoming the crisis of the referendum on the separation without bloodshed and is working today to resolve all the outstanding problems with the region, including problems since the nineties of the last century.
On the regional level and the importance of the Turkish military presence in Iraq, Abbadi said it was a "symbolic presence," indicating that "he was invited to visit Turkey within the framework of the Higher Coordination Committee between the two countries."
He pointed out that the Turks were dealing with duality in the Kurdish file, they supported the cord of Iraq and deal with them outside the framework of the federal government while denying the rights of Turkish Kurds until the issue of the referendum and felt the threat changed the view of the Turks towards rapprochement with Baghdad.
Abadi pointed out that this does not mean a negative attitude of his government against the Iraqi Kurds, but they are citizens in their country have the rights of citizenship and duties.
He added that the Turks had great fears from the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in northern Iraq, stressing that his country does not support this organization and does not want it to be taken from Iraqi territory as a launching pad against Turkey.
