Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said on Saturday that the Iraqi authorities are helping Russian oil companies operating in the country to resolve all operational issues arising from the restrictive measures imposed on the Kurdistan region.[/ltr]

[ltr]"For Russian companies, they continue to operate in Iraq and the autonomous Kurdistan region. At the same time, all the operational problems that have arisen because of the restrictive measures imposed on the Iraqi government," Bogdanov told the Russian news agency Sputnik. Erbil has been resolved in one way or another in cooperation with the Iraqi federal authorities, which recognizes the difficulties directed by foreign economists working in the country.[/ltr]
[ltr]The Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak, said earlier, that the Iraqi government has no objection to the work of Russian oil companies in the Kurdistan region, noting that the companies "Gazprom Oil" and "Lukoil" do not face any obstacles in the region.[/ltr]
[ltr]Novak said that Gazprom Petroleum has two projects in the Kurdistan region, namely, "JACAL and KRAMIAN", which the Russian company started to implement long before the start of the current conflict. So far, there are no objections from the Iraqi side regarding the continuation of these projects.[/ltr]
[ltr]It is worth mentioning that tension between Baghdad and Erbil erupted after the Kurdistan region held a referendum on independence on 25 September last, where the federal government took a series of actions against the region and imposed restrictions on banks.[/ltr]
