The Federal Supreme Court decided to entertain a lawsuit to challenge the first amendment to the electoral law, pending the resolution of two other petitions set up to challenge the second amendment of the law.

"The Federal Supreme Court held its hearing and considered a case to challenge the unconstitutionality of the first amendment to the electoral law," the court's spokesman Ayas al-Samuk said in a statement received by Sky Press.

Al-Samok added that "the court decided to entertain the suit because its resolution is linked to the resolution of two other appeals filed because of the lack of a quorum to attend the session in which the second amendment to the election law, as well as the first amendment, and will be considered after the completion of procedures for the exchange of regulations between the parties."
