The Supreme Commission for Coordination between the provinces announced the start of the actual work of the decentralization project in some governorates.
"The achievements of the decentralized system are very large, and the team is working to solve all the problems to focus decentralization," the head of the committee's secretariat, Touhran al-Mufti, told a news conference following a joint meeting between the commission and experts on the USAID project.
The Mufti: "The actual work began in the Takamul project in some provinces, and will extend for five years."
"The project will improve the capacities of governorates to provide services in the areas of health, water and waste," he said.
He pointed out that: "During the meeting, several topics and proposals were discussed concerning the modern ways that can be applied to enable the provinces to develop their administrative cadres from the administrative and financial aspects to provide the best services to citizens."
