Baghdad/Al-Masala Event: The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar Al-Hakim, stressed the necessity of working to restore the powers of local governments in the governorates.
A statement from his office stated that Al-Hakim “met with a number of members of the Basra Governorate Council, and after listening to the plans and challenges, he stressed the need to provide services to the Basra citizen, sustain the wheel of reconstruction and development, and work to restore the powers of local governments in accordance with the principle of decentralization, and the importance of integrating roles between governors and governorate councils.”
Al-Hakim called for “field presence, communication with citizens, activating the oversight role of the provincial council, monitoring ministries’ projects, and helping to expedite their completion by overcoming difficulties and obstacles.”
He also stressed the importance of spreading positivity and optimism, abandoning negativity, and being proud of the achievements made and building on them.
