In response to the decision of the European Parliament to call on Turkey to stop the process of olive branch in the north of Syria, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Friday that his country does not care about this decision.
Erdogan made the remarks in a speech at the sixth regular convention of the Justice and Development Party in the eastern state of Erzurum.
"Take the decision you want, we do not care about it, and your decisions are of no value at all, when you are authorized to provide guidance to this people, keep this guidance for yourself," Erdogan said.
"We are hosting about 4 million Syrian and Iraqi refugees because of the violence in their country, and now we are entering Afrin and other areas to clear the areas of these terrorist refugees to return to their homes," he said. "Instead of supporting us in the fight against terrorism.
On Thursday, the General Assembly of the European Parliament approved a draft resolution calling on Turkey to stop Operation Olive Branch, which it launched last January, to clear the Syrian region of Afrin from terrorists.
Erdogan stressed that Turkey does not covet the land of another country in the region, but works to eliminate the terrorist organizations and to allow the Syrian refugees to return to their homes.
Erdogan said that the process of freeing the city of Afrin from the terrorists is around the corner, and that the forces of the olive branch will then move towards the city of Manbaj to free them from terrorists.
Erdogan said: "The US administration proposes a new model to resolve the crisis Manbj, we asked President Trump about the reason for the presence of his forces in Manbj, he said because of the fight is urging, I said to him, is in the presence of the presence of the current low, he replied" No, "I told him from now "We told them that Turkey would do what was necessary, if they did not drive them to the east of the Euphrates River," he said.
Erdogan said that the people of the city of Manbaj will not wait so much to return to their homes, we tell them that their return is close, and will be administered by their own hands.
