    BAGHDAD - ((eighth day))
    A member of the Finance Committee Hassan Auzmn, Bayati, Iraq's banking sector is still lagging behind because of the economic policy of the country.


    Al-Bayati said, "despite persistent calls by specialists for the development of the banking sector, but this sector is still lagging behind and works in the old traditional ways, and done to Ayuakp the evolution in global banks.

    He added: The banking sector in dire need of the formation of the independent Supreme concerned him and encourages him to use the latest techniques used in the banking industry, and is working to organize its work and monitoring, calling for new legislation authorizing the establishment of this body and stimulates the local banks to develop their work.

    The banking system in Iraq consists of forty-three banks as well as the Central Bank and distributed by the property (7) state banks and (30) Ahli Bank, including (7) Islamic banks, in addition to (6) of foreign banks. (AA)
