Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ruled out the departure of Bashar al-Assad from power

"Bashar al-Assad remains in power, expressing his belief that it is not in the interest of the Syrian president to let the Iranians do what they like in Syria," Mohammed bin Salman said in an interview with Time magazine.

"The US military should maintain its quality in Syria, and it must remain for at least a medium, if not long-term, success," he said.

He explained that "the survival of US forces on Syrian soil is the last effort to prevent Iran from continuing to expand its influence."
