A member of the parliamentary legal committee Salim Shawqi on Saturday stressed the importance of following up the public prosecution on cases of corruption and waste of public money, stressing the importance of transferring all unfinished investigation files to the Integrity and Judicial Commission.

Shawki said in a press statement that "there are some interrogation sessions that ended pending the vote on the conviction or not in addition to other interrogations set dates have not been initiated as a result of the political districts that hampered the holding of many of the meetings," noting that "the parties to the files of interrogation believe That there is a need to refer files to the judiciary because the resolution during this stage within the House of Representatives is impossible. "

Shawki added that "the interrogations that were completed and did not collect signatures to vote on the conviction or not, or raised signatures and did not hold a session to vote, these interrogations are considered null and void unless the procedures are completed," adding that "files of corruption should be transmitted to integrity and justice regardless Whether the completion of the questioning or not because it was resolved within the parliament and the withdrawal of confidence from a specific official, this does not return money or allow punishment of the implicated the duty of parliament only is to withdraw confidence, but punitive measures of the judiciary.

Shawki stressed the importance of pursuing the public prosecution for cases of corruption, even if it is not raised as a case by a prosecutor and a suspect, as long as it includes waste of public money or corruption.
