BAGHDAD / The Ministry of Oil signed on Monday a gas investment contract associated with the fields of Nasiriyah and Gharraf with Baker Hughes General Electric Company with a capacity of 200 cubic meters per day.
"The Oil Ministry has achieved today an important achievement that puts us on the threshold of a new phase of the optimal investment of gas associated with the oil operations, which is a major achievement and work calculated for all the sincere national efforts that work for Iraq and the future of its sons," Oil Minister Jabbar al-Allaibi said in a statement received by " .
He added that "This contract represents an important addition to the gas sector in Dhi Qar province in particular and Iraq in general, where the company will (Baker Hughes) , one of the important arms company GE   Global work on optimal investment for the gas associated with the fields of the Garraf and Nasiriyah, and will reach investment fields rates More than (200) million standard cubic feet of gas per day, through development using the latest equipment and technology and fast technology and advanced in the world.
"The project will also provide more than 1000 tons of liquid gas per day and more than 900 cubic meters of condensate, as well as providing more than 500 jobs. We also pointed to the need to build residential and recreational complexes and provide services to the people of the province. Dhi Qar.
He added that "this contract will not be the last .. There are many projects in the way we aim to develop the oil industry and the optimal investment of national wealth and increase the revenues from it in support of the national economy.
For his part , representative of Baker Hughes in Iraq Rami Kassem, said , "This project is the first of its kind to be built on the basis of engineering, procurement, construction and finance EPCF  to the Ministry of Oil, and will support the development of integrated natural gas complex in Nasiriyah, which will be expanded later to become a full facility liquid natural gas NGL sponsor an investment of 200 million standard cubic feet per day of dry and liquefied gas and gas condensate. this project will support electric power plants dry gas for power generation with high efficiency. "
"The project will contribute to reducing the amount of associated gas wasted in the fields of Nasiriyah and Gharraf and will occupy the workforce in the region."
