Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said his country would not back down from buying the S-400 missile defense system from Russia.
"The US side is waving sanctions against Turkey if it does not back down from buying the S-400 from Russia," Calin said in a televised interview with Bloomberg television.
"It is only Turkey that decides on this defense system, what technology it will buy and where."
He warned that such a step would "not contribute positively" to the relations between the two countries, stressing that "any decision on matters such as the purchase of the S-400 system is" only by Turkey as a sovereign state. " Ending / 25
