    Trudeau was the first to respond publicly to the accusations, last Sunday, during his visit to Regina in Saskatchewan province on the occasion of the Canadian National Day. 
    A journalist who is at the center of accusations of sexual misconduct that may have been released 18 years ago by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau emerged from her silence through a CBS report confirming what happened at the time. 
    An unnamed article in a local newspaper that was re-circulated a short time ago, Trudeau was charged in 2000 when he was 28 and did not take any political duties as a "pet" during a music festival in Christon, British Columbia, western Canada. 
    "The incident in the article actually happened," said Rose Knight, a journalist in a statement, who wrote reluctantly in response to growing media pressure in recent weeks. 
    The article did not mention the journalist's name nor gave any further details on Troydo's alleged actions.
