The former MP of the National Coalition, Jamila Obeidi, Tuesday, that meetings between the leaders of the blocs got to divide political posts and portfolios between the parties participating in the electoral process, while excluded the formation of the national bloc during the next government.
"All the meetings that took place between the leaders of the parties and the political blocs got to divide the power between them and the distribution of ministerial portfolios," she said, pointing out that "the next government will be formed according to political quotas and consensus between the blocks and parties winning."
She added that "the call to fight corruption and the formation of a national bloc cross-sectarian and free of political quotas are mere media statements and do not exist," indicating that "all blocs seek to enter within a unified coalition to form the next government and not go to the political opposition to the work of the government within the House of Representatives."
Earlier, former deputy Ali al-Badairi accused Turkey and Saudi Arabia of "blatant pressure" to make political alliances based on "sectarian bases" and redistribution, noting that the recent meeting in Istanbul was not "chaotic."
