A political source revealed early Wednesday that there are two ways to form the next government, one of which may end US sanctions on Iraq.
Baghdad is witnessing a political movement to form a new government. But behind the scenes, even on stage, two foreign players are involved: Iran and America.
The announcement of the Federal Supreme Court in Iraq last Sunday (18 August 2018) ratification of the results of the parliamentary elections to lift the heat of the political environment; the declaration is the beginning of a constitutional deadline of 90 days before the winning parties to form the next government.
"The first way is to maintain the usual consensus pattern of reaching a figure that is mutually agreed upon by outside parties and that is not calculated on one side or another and as a result a weak government will be formed without parliamentary opposition," the source, who is close to the decision-making department, told The Twilight News.
And completed "while the second way is to win one of the external axes in the formation of the largest bloc and the departure of another party to the opposition."
"If Iran wins in the second scenario, it will lead to the withdrawal of US support with expectations of US sanctions against Iraq."
"There are a lot of files, including human rights, economic and military, ready to move," he said.
The five Shiite blocs won the majority of the votes in the parliamentary elections among them to form the largest bloc.
The information was received about the formation of a "nucleus" of the largest bloc between "Suron" led by Sadr, and "stream of wisdom" led by Ammar al-Hakim, "National Coalition" led by Iyad Allawi, and "list of victory" led by Prime Minister Haider Abadi. But until now he has not officially seen the light.
At the opposite end stands the "Alliance of conquest" (popular crowd), which was second in the results of the election led by Hadi al-Ameri, accompanied by "coalition of the rule of law" led by Nuri al-Maliki in a bloc closer to Iran.
Sadr, Hakim, Allawi and Abbadi are estimated to have American support, while Tehran supports Amiri and Maliki.
The major Kurdish parties, led by the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the National Union, are in addition to the mainstream of the parties and the Sunni blocs, waiting for the Shiites to resolve their decision to form the largest bloc.
