) - New US tariffs on imported Chinese products entered into force on Thursday, whileBeijing responded similarly to Washington's decision in a short time amid a two-month-long trade war between the two countries.

Under the Donald Trump administration's decision , a new 16-billion-dollar fee will be imposed on Chinese products.

This decision, to $ 50 billion, raises the total value of Chinese products imported to the United States , which is subject to a fee of 25 percent.

Trump attributes the decisions to impose trade duties to Beijing's unfair trade practices, which the latter denied, as well as the worsening of the US deficit with a number of Washington's trading partners, despite experts warning of the negative consequences of the policy on the US economy. China

responded immediately, after a few minutes, to the decision of 16 billion fees, announcing the imposition of strict customs duties in turn the same value on imported American products, according to the New China News Agency. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce said in a statement that Beijing "strongly opposes tariffs and has no choice but to continue to carry out the necessary counterattack." She pointed to "clear suspicions" that American fees violate WTO rules . "

On July 6, the United States began imposing new customs duties of 25 percent on the $ 34 billion worth of equipment, electronics and advanced equipment manufactured in China, including cars.

Beijing responded to Washington's move on the same day by two steps, imposing duties on US goods and filing a lawsuit against Washington at the World Trade Organization, calling the US fee decision "the biggest trade war in history."

The World Trade Organization has warned that trade barriers set up by major economies could jeopardize the global economic recovery and that the effects of these barriers are already emerging.
