    [rtl]The leader of the Victory Alliance, on Friday, that Prime Minister Haider Abadi told MPs and members of his coalition that the post of prime minister, "tired" and wants to rest from him, noting at the same time that there is no justification to withdraw Abbadi nomination from the premiership .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Nada Shaker Jawdat said in a press statement that "Prime Minister Haider al-Abbadi is still a candidate for the alliance of victory for prime minister and there is no justification for the withdrawal of his candidacy," indicating that "the religious reference did not mention Abadi by name in its last statement ."[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]She added that "Abadi told us that the post of prime minister tired and that he wants to rest, so he is not sticking to it," noting at the same time that "the nomination of Khalid al-Obeidi for the post of Speaker of the parliament does not prevent the nomination of Abadi to head the government ."[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The religious authority confirmed in a statement posted on its website last Monday, it does not support those who were in power over the past years occupied the position of prime minister .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]On September 3, 2018, the new House of Representatives held its first session in the presence of the new deputies, where the deputies were sworn in .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The parliamentary elections were held on May 12, 2018 in Baghdad and the provinces amid tight security. The Electoral Commission announced hours later that the participation rate was 44% with the participation of more than 10 million out of the 24 million eligible to participate in the elections .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The results came out of the alliance of Sowron, supported by Muqtada al-Sadr first at the level of the provinces followed by the Fatah Alliance led by Hadi al-Amiri, and then the victory coalition led by Prime Minister Haider Abadi .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The political and media circles were preoccupied with monitoring the low turnout of polling stations in different Iraqi cities, where the participation rate reached 44% compared to the 2014 elections which reached 60% .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]He explained the low participation rates with many problems in the voting procedures, and the failure of electronic auditing, in addition to the general frustration of the repetition of the traditional political forces themselves .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The days after the election witnessed a wide debate among the political circles that prompted the House of Representatives to hold a session and vote on the amendment of the election law, including the re-counting and manual counting of the results .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The Federal Supreme Court voted later to respond to the appeals filed on the Third Amendment Law of the House of Representatives Elections Law, while ruling that the cancellation of the elections abroad and the special vote were unconstitutional .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]On August 19, 2018, the Federal Supreme Court announced its ratification of the results of the parliamentary elections and the winning candidates, confirming that the decision of ratification was issued by agreement of opinion .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Before President Fuad Masoum calls for the new parliament to hold its first session on September 3, the meeting will be chaired by the oldest member .[/rtl]
