Shafaq News / Alliance revealed the reform and reconstruction, on Tuesday, the assignment of former leader of the Supreme Council Adel Abdul Mahdi, today noon, the formation of the new Iraqi government.
"The House of Representatives will vote today on the new President of the Republic, and after the performance of the new president, the constitutional oath (any character), it will cost Adel Abdul Mahdi to form a new Iraqi government."
The leader of the Alliance for Reform and Reconstruction that "the assignment of Abdul Mahdi came by consensus and agreement of the large political forces within the House of Representatives, led by others and Fatah and wisdom and the forces of Sunni and Kurdish also."
The Iraqi parliament on Tuesday resumed the election of the president after failing to pick a candidate for the post since 2005 for the Kurds, and for the first time witnessed a confrontation between the two main Kurdish parties.
Once a Kurd president was elected, after the parliament last September elected Mohamed Halboussi as president, the prime minister's name, the prime minister, remains the reserved seat of the Shiites.
Thus, the President of the Republic should cost within 15 days of his election, the candidate chosen by the largest parliamentary bloc to form a government.

Am I reading this correctly. They have already agreed on the prime minister even before electing a president?

matter .. The new Iraqi president will cost "Adel Abdul Mahdi" to form a government Empty Iraq names new president and prime minister-designate, ending months-long deadlock

Post by chouchou Tue 02 Oct 2018, 3:36 pm

Iraq’s parliament on Tuesday elected as president Kurdish politician Barham Salih, who immediately named Shi’ite Adel Abdul Mahdi prime minister-designate, ending months of deadlock after an inconclusive national election in May.

The presidency, traditionally occupied by a Kurd, is a largely ceremonial position but the vote is a key step toward forming a new government, which politicians have failed to do since the election.

Under Iraq’s constitution, Salih had 15 days to invite the nominee of the largest parliamentary bloc to form a government but he chose to do so less than two hours after his election.

Abdul Mahdi now has 30 days to form a cabinet and present it to parliament for approval.

Since Saddam Hussein was toppled in a 2003 U.S.-led invasion, power has been shared among Iraq’s three largest ethnic-sectarian components.

The prime minister has traditionally been a Shi’ite Arab, the speaker of parliament a Sunni Arab and the president a Kurd.

    I cannot believe it.

30 more days to wait. Are we going to have a wonderful Xmas?

It appears the timetable has a timetable and it is in hyper drive - I think that there really is a timeline and "whomever" is in charge is pushing this to "getter done" ASAP.
