The ministerial economic affairs committee recommended allocating the necessary funds to complete the national laboratory project.

The Committee added that "the Committee devoted its twenty-third session to discuss the file of the contract and partnership by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control with the international companies examining the examination of goods and goods imported to Iraq in the country of origin, in the presence of representatives of the private sector in addition to the head of the Authority of border crossings and the head of the Central Organization for Standardization Quality control, the representative of the General Authority of Customs and a number of general managers of the Ministry of Interior and Commerce, as well as representatives of the inspection companies. "
The committee discussed at length the possibility of renewing the partnership contracts with the inspection companies pending the completion of the Central Authority for Quality Control, the infrastructure of the construction of laboratories in 5 provinces, which was to be completed by the Ministry of Construction and Municipalities in previous periods but stopped because of the financial crisis, From carrying out the inspection of goods and goods imported and produced locally and the need to contract with outside companies.
The Committee stressed in its statement that the file of the examination is linked directly to the lives of citizens and consumer protection and reduce the arrival of poor goods to the Iraqi market through the border crossings due to the large volume of imported goods.
The Committee recommended allocating the necessary funds within the general budget of the State to enable the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control to carry out its tasks and assign the Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Finance to follow up the matter.
The committee also decided to hold a meeting under the chairmanship of the Minister of Industry and Minerals and the membership of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister and the head of the Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control in the presence of representatives of the inspection companies to discuss the problems and observations resulting from the entry of imported goods and check them at the border and local markets. And the development of solutions and treatments necessary to avoid problems and obstacles in the mechanism of contracts to be signed later, to submit to the team report to the Committee on Economic Affairs as soon as possible
The 23rd session of the Economic Affairs Committee was attended by Minister of Industry and Minerals Mohammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq Ali Al-Alaq and Chairman of the National Investment Authority Sami Al-Araji and the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Oil, Finance and Planning.
