A book issued by Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi recommended allocating alternative lands to members of the Counter-Terrorism Service, instead of the land of Bakriya.

The letter that Al-Halbousi sent to the Prime Minister on (last September 30) showed “the recommendations of the Parliamentary Investigation Committee formed under Parliamentary Order No. 105, which include stopping the allocation of the numbered plot (6029/3/ District 19 of Al-Ghazaliya) for violating the legislation in force and the decisions issued by the Council of Ministers that It is forbidden to convert the sex of agricultural lands into tranquility, in addition to the fact that this procedure is in violation of the basic design of the city of Baghdad.”

According to the book, the committee recommended "allocating alternative lands to members of the Counter-Terrorism Service."
Al-Bakriya, far west of Baghdad, is a well-known agricultural area inhabited by about 450 families, where lands are cultivated with different crops, as well as livestock.

Continuing with the decision to grant lands in Bakriyah to members of the Anti-Terrorism Service will lead to the displacement of these families who have lived in the area for decades.
