A political source said early on Thursday that Iran insists that the leader of the "Atta" Faleh al-Fayadh is the Minister of Interior in the new Iraqi government headed by Adel Abdul Mahdi.

The source attributed the reason to the insistence that Iran is seeking to take Fayadh, a close associate, to ensure commercial movement with Iraq through land border crossings after the United States imposed a second round of sanctions on Tehran.

The source added that "Iran is afraid that the Ministry of the Interior of the Ministry of the Interior is a distant person, not tacitly, and in tune with the wishes of Washington," noting that "Tehran seeks to be neighboring countries to enter into commercial transactions after the tightening of economic sanctions by the United States."

The media reports that there is a dispute between the blocks of reform and construction on the candidate for the post of Minister of Interior Faleh al-Fayadh, which was unable to Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, passed within the dome of parliament after the veto imposed by the leader of the Sadrist movement and support of the alliance, "Asron," Moqtada al-Sadr.

The Iraqi parliament voted at the end of last October on 14 ministers from the new government of Adel Abdul Mahdi, while delaying the vote on 8 ministers.

Parliament postponed the vote on the ministries of defense, interior, culture, education, justice, planning, higher education, and immigration due to disagreement over its candidates.
