Parliament calls on the government to prepare the requirements for holding local elections

The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Hassan Karim al-Kaabi, on Thursday, the government to prepare all the requirements for the provincial elections in the time set by the Commission for that.
"The House of Representatives is continuing to make the necessary amendments to the provincial elections law in the near future so that the Commission can take its active role in the development of the necessary systems for the success of the electoral process and ensure integrity and independence," Al-Kaabi said during a meeting with members of the Electoral Commission.
Al-Kaabi called on the central government to "prepare all the requirements for the provincial elections on 16/11/2019."
The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives "must support the work of the Commission to establish the concept of peaceful transfer of power and to establish the foundations of the entire democratic process in the country." Ending / 25
