Baghdad: The Iraqi Center for Fighting Rumors of the decline in the number of rumors targeting the security and economic situation during the end of the first month of this year by 53% compared to the month of December, which monitored about 60 rumor that targeted the security situation, economic and social in Iraq.
"The social media has maintained its main role as a source of incorrect information, as it has been a source of 60% of its popularity, while the role of the media continues to decline to promote rumors, with 3% rumors this month," the center said.
The report pointed out that "the reason for the decline of rumors comes back first to the weekly weekly conferences that are organized for the Prime Minister, where these conferences focused on the information contained more press coverage and the time enough for journalists to answer their questions and secondly the educational campaigns of the Ministry of the Interior and its efforts in education against rumors.
The Center said that "the remarkable thing in the rumors that have been monitored for the month is the rumors of fraud and fraud, where it received for the first time about 40% of the volume of rumors, which talk about fellowships in addition to providing housing outside Iraq."
