The General Union of Writers and Writers issued an angry statement on the nomination of a group of deputies for the song "Salam Aleik" national anthem of the Republic of Iraq, while warned the three presidencies and deputies from dealing with the subject of "contempt."
The Union said in a statement, "We in the Union of writers of Iraq have nominated the poem Jawahiri (peace on the plateaus of Iraq, and its slide and the cliff and curve) to the Committee on Culture and Information previously, and the Committee has endorsed our nomination at the time."
He added that "our nomination was for the following reasons: The poem for the Jawahery, who launched the Arabs the title of (the poet of the Arabs the largest), which is the name of a great power along the length and breadth of Iraq and history.
