, member of the General Authority of the Sadiqoun Movement, Ahmed Adnan, confirmed that the conviction of the representatives will decide the position of Speaker of Parliament next Saturday.
Adnan said, in a televised interview followed by Mawazine News: “The proposal for the Taqadum Party to withdraw from the political process if Salem Al-Issawi sweeps. The votes in the session to select the president are very weak, because the withdrawal of any party negatively affects the political process.”
He added, "The rumor that the position of Speaker of Parliament was exchanged for other positions is just an illusion, and there is no representative who has come out and declared such issues, indicating that Iraq today is considered one of the countries in which nothing is hidden."
He pointed out that "the position of Speaker of Parliament will be decided according to the convictions of the representatives within the Council, pointing out that there must be agreements between the Sunni political blocs before going to the session to choose a Speaker of Parliament."
