The parliamentary legal committee confirmed on Monday that Nineveh governor Nawfal al-Aakoub and his two deputies will be referred to the judiciary on charges of dereliction of duty and large files announced by the fact-finding committee, pointing out that the parliament was referred to the judiciary through the prosecution and the government.
"The House of Representatives, after the vote on the removal of the governor of Nineveh and his deputies, was directed to refer their files to the judiciary for the purpose of taking the necessary measures against them, especially after the fact-finding committee arrived," said Salim Hamza, a member of the committee.
Hamzah added that "the parliament can not refer the observers and deputies to not be able to refer them directly to the judiciary, but the public prosecution and the government is the one who will bring charges to the defaulters in order to refer them to the judicial bodies Linalo fair punishment."
