One million and 200,000 people are still displaced in Iraqi cities

The government announced on Monday that at least one million and 200,000 people were still displaced in different cities and in camps in different areas. "There are about 500,000 displaced people living in camps in the country, and about 700,000 people are still displaced in the cities (outside the camps)," said Jassim al-Attiyah,

More than 5 million people were displaced and left their homes in the provinces of Nineveh, Kirkuk, Salah al-Din, Anbar, Diyala, Baghdad and parts of Babil province after mid-2014 after the expansion of armed control of the country.
Following the government's announcement in late 2017 that the organization was defeated, many IDPs returned to their homes, but many are still unable to return to their areas of origin as a result of the destruction of their homes during the war.
